"Elegance" portrays an elegant featherstar (yep thats what its called!) on a brightly lit kelp forest reef wall of False Bay, Cape Town showing to me the delicate filtering arms or "feathers" of this starfish related creature. While they have a plant like appearance, crinoid feather stars will filter the water column for suspended plankton and particulate prey. Set against a stark blue background, "Elegance" portrays the jumble packed spacing of life on a kelp jungle reef.
