"Blue Orange" is an image portraying False Plum sea anemones front and central on a deep kelp forest reef wall in False Bay, Cape Town. What I like about this image is the way it starkly contrasts the blue water column and the orange dominated life of the reef wall. The silhouetted kelp reminds me of where we are in the African sea jungle, where the life of sea anemones, sea urchins, sponges, squits and seastars is packed so tightly on the reef space. Interestingly this image was taken on a really surgy day, reflective of the movement in both the kelp and the sean anaemone tentacles.
