"Sea Jungle" shows a kelp forest seascape of False Bay, Cape Town. A wall of brightly coloured anemones, urchins, sponges, featherstars tightly packed on all of the available reef space with not a square inch to spare. Sandwiched between the southward flowing warm Agulhas Current and the cool Benguela Upwelling System, False Bay's reef are a forest of colours. To me this image highlights the importance of kelp forests and the need for ocean habitats such as these to be protected by marine protected areas.
